When peaches ripen in different regions
As soon as the peach trees ripen, the long-awaited peach season begins at city markets and stores. And it's incredibly difficult to stop in time, as these fruits are so fragrant and delicious. However, it's no wonder that shoppers are so interested in when garden peaches ripen. It's all because they want to buy ripe and healthy fruit.
Experts believe that the most delicious varieties of peaches and nectarines ripen in Crimea. The ripening time for these varieties falls on the second half of June. However, the main harvest takes place in July and August. This is the period when you can buy fruit throughout Russia without worrying about its quality. Interestingly, you can find these juicy and flavorful fruits at a comparatively lower price in early and mid-September. Naturally, the yield of this fruit tree decreases significantly with the arrival of October.
Nectarine and peach season is also underway in the Krasnodar Krai. However, planting these trees in loamy or sandy soil is not recommended, as these conditions are not optimal for such plants. They are best grown in structured soil in the Krasnodar Krai and Kuban. Another important point about planting peaches in this region: choose wind-free areas, as these are the conditions in which ripe peaches will delight you with their flavor.
Crimean peaches, nutritious and perhaps the most popular, are arguably the most popular. However, remember that when you go to the store to buy fruit out of season, you'll likely find fruit that has already undergone chemical treatment. Fruit is often sprayed with sulfur preservatives, so if you break a ripe one, the pit inside will be twisted and slightly dried out. These fruits are perfect for making jam, compote, or even some kind of pie. Eating them raw, however, is not recommended.
Let's say you bought the peaches you were hoping for, but they're not ripe. Don't worry, they can ripen at home. Simply spread them out on a plate and leave them at room temperature for a few days. They'll also ripen if you place them in a paper bag with bananas. Uzbek peaches are a good choice. Incidentally, these trees also produce good yields in Uzbekistan.
Regardless of where the peaches are sourced (whether grown in Crimea or in other regions and countries), the key is to understand that the best time to buy them is during the peak season. They ripen quickly and are not treated with chemicals after ripening.
