However, it's important to note that fruits that have been artificially pollinated to create F1 hybrids contain few seeds. Therefore, a package of Bobcat F1 seeds, especially given its Dutch origin, can be quite expensive.

Due to its drought tolerance, this tomato is zoned for southern regions, but it also produces well in open ground conditions in the Belgorod, Novgorod, and other regions. In northern regions, the Bobcat is grown in greenhouses.

This variety is of particular interest to gardeners who grow tomatoes not only for their own use but also for sale. Firstly, the high yield is appealing. Secondly, the fruits, in addition to their attractive presentation, are excellent for transportation. They also have a fairly long shelf life of up to 30 days.

Growing and care

Sow seeds for seedlings in March. Garden soil mixed with humus is suitable for filling the boxes. Soaking or treating the seeds is not necessary. Space the seeds 4 cm apart, cover with a thin layer of soil, and compact. Water with a spray bottle, and cover the tomatoes with plastic wrap until germination. Prick out the seedlings after two true leaves appear and fertilize with potassium. To prevent the seedlings from becoming leggy, provide supplemental lighting with a fluorescent lamp. Harden off the seedlings approximately two weeks before planting.

The air temperature should be at least 10 degrees Celsius. The pots with seedlings are brought outside and left for two hours at first. Gradually increase the time. In open ground, the plants are planted in a 50x40 pattern. They are trained into a single trunk for accelerated fruiting or into two for a higher yield. The bushes should be tied to a support.

Water the Bobcat no more than twice a week, keeping in mind its drought tolerance. The fruits do not crack in high humidity. The plant's trunks are abundantly foliated. Therefore, to speed up fruit ripening, remove excess leaves. The variety responds well to all types of fertilizer, so regular fertilization will increase the yield.
