How to use Fertika mineral fertilizers in your garden

Not all regions of our country are blessed with fertile soil, so farmers are forced to fertilize their soil themselves. Among the many mineral fertilizers available, Fertika is particularly popular. Learn more about this product and its application in our article.

Features of the mineral complex

Just a few years ago, Fertika was produced by the Finnish company Kemira. Recently, production plants have opened in Russia, but the raw materials remain the same. Now, domestic companies produce a fertilizer that fully meets European standards.

Fertika fertilizer is available in powder and liquid form.

The main advantage of Fertika is its chlorine-free composition, making it less toxic and reducing the risk of harm to health. Farmers use this product throughout the season, regularly fertilizing their beds to ensure that the plants are supplied with the necessary microelements.

The mineral complex is available in two forms: granulated powder and liquid. Both varieties must be diluted with water before use, observing the dosage required for the specific crop. Detailed application rates are provided in the instructions on the packaging.

Varieties of the drug "Fertika"

The manufacturer produces a full line of mineral fertilizers designed for various green crops. Learn more about the different types of fertilizers below.

Fertika Lux

The most powerful, but rather expensive, product, designed for vegetables and flowering plants. Available in 25g and 100g granules, it contains increased levels of nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus. The formula is enhanced with iron, zinc, manganese, and boron. Despite its economical use, it's best to combine it with other fertilizers. Fertika Lux is used for the following purposes:

  • greenhouse cultivation;
  • improving flowering of indoor flowers;
  • enhancing color saturation;
  • growth acceleration;
  • when transplanting seedlings into open ground for faster adaptation.

Kristalon

A cheaper version of the previous fertilizer. It has slightly lower potassium-phosphorus and iron content. However, it does contain magnesium, which is absent from "Lux." It is available in several sizes, from 20 to 800 g. Fertika Kristalon is used on sandy soils and in soils with increased acidity. It is recommended for feeding tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and beets.

Station wagon

A fertilizer suitable for all types of plants, from vegetables to conifers. Farmers call this formula "spring-summer," as it only needs to be applied mid-season. It features a double dose of potassium, making it most commonly used for peat soils, berry crops, and cucumbers. It comes in a 2.5 kg container.

Autumn

Despite some similarities to "Universal," this product is designed for autumn use. The manufacturer has reduced the nitrogen content but nearly doubled the potassium-phosphorus component. It is available as granules in 1 kg packages. Fertika Autumn can be used on any soil and for any crops.

Floral

The preparation is available in kilogram packages specifically for flowering crops:

  • annuals;
  • perennial;
  • bulbous.

Regular root feeding helps increase the size of the inflorescences, enhance their color, and prolong the flowering period. Apply the mixture three times per season:

  • before landing;
  • 14 days after landing;
  • during the formation of ovaries.

Lawn

Fertika Gazon's balanced composition allows you to reduce the amount of lawn fertilizer needed. It is available as a granulated powder in 5 to 25 kg batches. It is used for the following purposes:

  • rapid growth after mowing;
  • increasing grass density;
  • reducing the number of weeds;
  • increasing color saturation.

Coniferous

This product is designed for evergreens and conifers. Fertika is available in 2.5 kg containers in two different flavors: spring and summer. One is applied before planting, the other throughout the season.

The composition of the preparation increases the acidity of the soil, and therefore it can be used for crops that prefer acidic soil.

Rules for the application of mineral fertilizer "Fertika"

Each product in the line has its own dosage and application frequency. All these details are described in the instructions for use on the back of the packaging. Let's briefly review the main points:

  1. Planting seedlings. The fertilizer, mixed with the main substrate, is added to pre-prepared planting holes at a rate of 60-80 g/sq. m.
  2. Pre-winter digging of garden beds. Before hilling, dry granules are scattered on the surface and then dug in along with the soil. The application rate is 50-60 g/sq. m.
  3. Planting bulbous crops. The procedure is carried out before the beginning of autumn, incorporating the preparation into the soil before planting. The required proportion is 80-100 g/sq. m.
  4. Regular summer and fall fertilizing. Spread the fertilizer around the tree trunk and then carefully dig in. The recommended dose is 30-40 g/sq. m.
Fertilizer is used to feed seedlings before planting in the ground.

Compatibility with other drugs

The entire Fertika product line, with the exception of "For Evergreens and Conifers," has a neutral pH. This feature allows for combination with virtually all fertilizers, growth stimulants, and pesticides. The mineral fertilizer can also be used in tank mixes.

Storage and safety measures

The manufacturer's stated shelf life is 5 years from the production date. However, according to farmers, the product does not cake and retains its properties for much longer. It can also be stored diluted. Store in a cool, dark place, away from food, and out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not use food-grade containers to dissolve mineral fertilizers. Also, do not pour any remaining mixture into bodies of water.

In case of accidental ingestion, drink several liters of water, empty your stomach, take an absorbent, and then consult a doctor.
Author's advice

To ensure maximum safety, wear gloves and protective clothing when handling the product, and wash your hands thoroughly with soap after use. If the powder or liquid comes into contact with your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with running water.

When diluting the powder, you must adhere to the manufacturer's recommended proportions.

Reviews of Fertika fertilizer

"I've been using Universal for tomato fertilizer for a long time now, as I grow seedlings myself for sale. The seeds germinate significantly faster, and the plants grow strong, with a huge number of ovaries."

"Our dacha plot isn't very fertile. We've tried so many ways to nourish the soil over the years, but nothing has worked. Last spring, a neighbor recommended Fertika. The results are amazing—we haven't had such a bountiful harvest in a long time."

Among the vast selection of mineral fertilizers, Fertika is the most popular among Russian gardeners. In addition to its extensive product line, it offers excellent compatibility with other products and is also low-toxic.
