Detailed instructions for using the drug "Fundazol" for plant protection
Content
Description and characteristics of the drug
Fundazol has earned high marks among gardeners for good reason. Unlike other fungicides, it can be applied to seed, significantly reducing the risk of plant infection.
Composition and release form
The product belongs to the benzimidazole class, whose main active ingredient is benomyl. Fundazol contains 500 g of benomyl per 1 kg of product.
The chemical is available in powder form and is a white or pale yellow substance. It has a characteristic, faint odor. It is non-fugacity. Hazard Class 2.

Properties and purpose
This product can safely be called universal. It is used to treat:
- garden ornamental plants;
- vegetables;
- fruit and berry crops;
- indoor flowers;
- agricultural fields.
When used correctly, the fungicide is highly effective. Therefore, before use, carefully read the instructions for detailed dosage instructions.
The chemical's action targets the entire plant and is capable of stopping the development of fungal diseases at their early stages. The active substance quickly blocks spore reproduction, eliminates symptoms, and promotes rapid regeneration.

Mechanism of action
As soon as benomyl comes into contact with the outer tissues of plants, it immediately penetrates the internal structure. The protective effect lasts from a week to a month, depending on the pathogen.
As a fungicide, it prevents fungal spores from spreading and reduces their numbers to zero. Its acaricidal properties protect crops from spider mites. Its insecticidal action inhibits the activity of leaf beetles.
The chemical is also used as a nematicide. It kills nematodes, preventing the microscopic worms from parasitizing the plant.
Advantages and disadvantages of Fundazol
Humanity has yet to invent a perfect fungicide. Even Fundazol has two sides to its coin.
- the product is absolutely harmless to crops;
- treated seed material is 100% protected from fungi;
- immediate action on pathogenic microorganisms;
- rapid penetration into the internal structures of the plant;
- the possibility of using it as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent;
- the level of protection does not decrease even in bad weather.
- the fungicide is very flammable;
- highly toxic and therefore dangerous for humans, fish and other fauna;
- requires strict adherence to instructions, especially when processing seeds.

Recommendations for use
Fundazol is a very effective drug, but high efficiency can only be achieved with proper use.
Consumption rates and number of procedures
The dosage of the drug depends on the object being treated:
- affected plants – 10 g per 10 liters of water;
- seed material – 10 g/l;
- Soil for planting - standardization is similar to that for infected crops.
The number of treatments directly depends on the disease:
- seed mold - one-time;
- bulb rot - twice;
- withering - similar;
- ash - at least three times;
- spotting - four times.

Seed treatment
Seeds can be treated at any time, either before or during sowing. To achieve the best results, gardeners recommend following these guidelines:
- The seeds should be soaked in a fungicide and left for 15 minutes. Then, spread them out on a paper towel to dry.
- If it is necessary to treat the bulbs, they should be sprayed with a solution of Fundazol at a rate of 10 g per two liters of water.
- Before planting, tubers are usually soaked for 15-20 minutes using a diluted preparation.
Processing of garden and horticultural crops
As already noted, the number of treatments and standardization depend on the type of crop being treated. Let's examine this in more detail:
- Ornamental plants are sprayed 4 times.
- For fruit trees, 5 treatments are recommended before flowering.
- Berry crops will be saved by two procedures carried out before the buds open.
- Tomatoes and cucumbers are sprayed at the first signs of disease.
- To prevent cabbage from clubroot, it is enough to treat the soil before planting once.
- To avoid potato infection, it is recommended to soak the tubers in a fungicide before planting.
- Bulbous crops are treated in a similar manner.
Orchid treatment
Very delicate orchids are sensitive to strong medications. However, they can also be treated with Fundazol:
- Cut off the top of a plastic bottle to create something like a pot.
- Pour in dry soil, having previously mixed it with foam.
- Moisten the resulting substrate with a chemical diluted with water.
- Replant the flower.
- Protection of flowering ornamental plants
- Processing of garden crops
- Protecting grapes
- Spraying garden crops
Toxicity and precautions
Fundazol's high toxicity makes it dangerous to humans and wildlife. Close contact with the drug without proper safety precautions may result in the following consequences:
- allergy;
- irritation of the mucous membranes;
- skin lesions;
- violation of reproductive functions.
To minimize risks, the chemical must be used with extreme caution:
- Before starting the procedure, put on gloves, a mask, and glasses;
- If you spray indoor plants, do it outdoors;
- After finishing the treatment, wash your hands thoroughly with soap, or better yet, take a shower.
Analogues and combination with other drugs
Fundazol is almost 100% compatible with other products. It can be used in conjunction with growth regulators and stimulants, as well as various pesticides. The exception is highly alkaline products—the fungicide cannot be used with them.
If you can't find this chemical on sale, don't worry. It can be replaced with other antifungal alternatives:
- "Benzole";
- "Vitaros";
- "Derosal";
- "Fundazim";
- Fitosporin.

Reviews from gardeners
I usually use Topsin M, but as a substitute, I decided to try Fundazol. I'm very pleased. The results are immediately visible; the plants have literally come alive before my eyes.
I've been using this chemical on tomatoes for a long time. My tomatoes have never gotten sick after treatment, which speaks volumes about the high quality of the product.
I treated my orchid with Fundazol. I was very apprehensive because the flower is delicate. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. The results were stunning – my beauty came back to life.
A modern fungicide isn't a panacea for infections. However, a new-generation product will make your job much easier by helping protect plants from fungi.
