Fitosporin M – first aid for plants, error-free instructions for use

Every gardener dreams of a universal fungicide that can quickly combat pathogens at any stage of plant development. Fortunately, such a product exists. The detailed instructions for using Fitosporin M, presented in our article, will help you learn more about this product.

Description of the drug

Fitosporin M is a systemic fungicide classified as a biopesticide. It is used by gardeners to treat diseases caused by fungi and bacteria, including septoria leaf spot, powdery mildew, rust, rot, late blight, rhizoctonia, tracheomycosis, scab, and others.

Fitosporin M is a systemic fungicide belonging to the class of biopesticides.

Unlike Fitoftorin, this product is universal and therefore effective for a wide range of crops. It can also be used for soil and seed treatment. It belongs to the lowest toxicity class and does not harm surrounding flora and fauna. It can be used at all stages of plant development, even during fruit ripening and flowering. The fungicide can be used in conjunction with other pesticides or antibiotics, such as Fitolavin.

The fungicide "Fitosporin M" is available in the following forms:

  1. Powder. It is a white or light-gray loose substance, packaged in 10, 100, and 200 g packages. Before use, the product must be soaked in water.
  2. Paste. A thick, dark substance, sold in 10, 100, and 200 g packages. It dissolves quickly, so it doesn't need to be soaked beforehand.
  3. Liquid. Available in 110, 200, 500 ml, and 10 liters. This product is well suited for treating indoor plants, as it has a gentler effect. Liquid fungicide should not be frozen.

In this video, experts explain how to properly use a universal fungicide.

Active ingredient and mechanism of action

Fitosporin M penetrates deep into plant tissue, affecting its cells. The main function of the product is performed by Bacillus subtilis. This live bacterium prevents diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms. After treatment, it is activated, preventing fungi and bacteria from multiplying.

Bacillus subtilis is resistant to extreme temperatures. It can survive at -50°C and +40°C, entering a "dormant" state during these harsh conditions. Once the environment stabilizes, Bacillus subtilis reactivates.

The product also contains the organic mineral elixir "Gumi," which contains beneficial microelements (K, N, P). It accelerates plant growth and strengthens their immune system. The supplement also serves as a preventative measure, minimizing the risk of re-infection.

Application: instructions and dosage

Fitosporin M begins to act immediately after application. When using the product, weather conditions should be taken into account. It can be used even during rainy weather, but the procedure will need to be repeated after a week. If precipitation is prolonged, it is advisable to spray immediately afterward.

The product is also used for watering:

  • vegetables (once every 30 days);
  • fruit and berry plants (twice a month);
  • houseplants in pots (every 30 days).

Powder

Since the powdered form of the fungicide takes a long time to dissolve, it should be prepared in advance. It is diluted in water and allowed to sit for a couple of hours before application. The following ratios should be used:

  • 10 g/5 l (potatoes and cucumbers are treated, and the roots are also soaked);
  • 10 g/0.5 l (spray on tubers and bulbs);
  • 6 g/10 l (for cabbage);
  • 5 g/10 l (spray tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and also treat soil and greenhouses);
  • 1.5 g/2 l (used for prevention of all types of flowers);
  • 1.5 g/0.1 l (soak the seeds).

Dosage of the preparation for processing garden crops

Each processing method has its own nuances:

  • You can spray the plants again after 10–14 days;
  • soaking of seeds and root system should be done for no longer than 2 hours;
  • Greenhouses and soil must be treated 1 week before use.

Paste

Before use, prepare a concentrated solution from the paste-like product. To do this, dilute the fungicide with water in a 1:2 ratio. The product can be stored in the refrigerator and diluted to the desired concentration before use:

  • 3 tbsp./200 ml (spray tubers, bulbs);
  • 3 tsp/10 l (used for prevention and treatment of all types of crops);
  • 15 drops/1 l (for watering indoor plants);
  • 10 drops/1 l (spray indoor flowers);
  • 4 drops/200 ml (treat the roots of seedlings);
  • 2 drops/100 ml (soak the seeds).

Liquid

The product is sprayed on plants and also used when preparing tubers and bulbs for storage. The solution is also used to treat seedlings or seeds before planting. The product is convenient because it requires no preparatory work—no soaking or dilution required. Treatment is carried out with a diluted solution at a rate of 10 drops of fungicide per 200 ml of water.

The preparation is sprayed on plants damaged by diseases and insects.

There are three types of liquid Fitosporin M available on store shelves:

  • "Bioprotection for flowers and indoor plants";
  • "Golden Autumn";
  • "Storage".

All solutions contain the same amount of live Bacillus subtilis bacteria and do not differ in the methods of application.

Fitosporin M Reanimator

This product is designed to accelerate plant regeneration after illness or adverse weather conditions. It helps protect plants from sunburn, frost, or overwatering. Fitosporin M Reanimator boasts not only a higher content of live bacteria, but also contains a small amount of:

  • amino acids;
  • organic antibiotics;
  • vitamins;
  • enzymes.

The fungicide destroys pathogenic microorganisms at the cellular level, accelerating plant recovery.

Consumption rates

The consumption of Fitosporin M depends on the degree of damage by harmful bacteria:

  1. To stop the disease in its early stages, simply dilute the concentrate with water at a ratio of 1:20. Spray the resulting solution thoroughly onto the plant. Repeat the procedure after 10 days.
  2. If the onset of the disease is missed and the bacteria have already caused significant damage to the plant, the proportions of Fitosporin M are reduced to 1:2. Treatment is also carried out by spraying and repeated after 10 days.

Errors in application

The numerous positive reviews of Fitosporin M demonstrate its high effectiveness. However, some gardeners complain that the product has not lived up to their expectations. The cause of poor results is often the incorrect use of the fungicide.

When purchasing the product, it's best to choose the paste form. After preparing the concentrate, the resulting liquid should be left to steep for 24 hours in a warm place. Bacillus subtilis is a live bacteria, so it needs time to activate its activity.

The powder diluted with water should also be left to sit for 24 hours. The instructions state that the fungicide can be used within 2 hours of preparing the solution, but this is not enough time for the bacteria to become active.

The powder diluted with water should also be left to infuse for 24 hours.

When planting seedlings, the soil must be prepared in advance. Water the soil 3-4 days before planting to allow the hay bacillus to fully "come to life."

Security measures

Fitosporin M is a low-toxicity medication, but it can sometimes cause a mild allergic reaction. By taking precautions, you can avoid possible irritation:

  • use protective equipment (gloves, protective mask or respirator, glasses);
  • Do not smoke, drink or eat during treatment;
  • If the fungicide comes into contact with the skin or mucous membranes, wash the area of contact with plenty of water;
  • In case of accidental ingestion, induce vomiting and drink an absorbent;
  • Do not use the same containers in which you prepare food to dilute the preparation;
  • After finishing work, wash exposed areas of skin thoroughly and change clothes.

With the arrival of Fitosporin M, protecting plants has become even easier. This broad-spectrum fungicide is suitable for both combating and preventing pathogenic bacteria.
